Seabiscuit is a inspirational film. It is on many film critics’ lists of the top motivational films of all time. If you have not seen it, it is well worth the rent. It is a story of the horse Seabiscuit and his owners and riders. The story is set around the time of the depression. A time when people were struggling to get by, the story of this horse gave people hope. He was a small horse, smaller than any of the competition. He was down on his luck, he hadn’t won a race ever. The trainers and owners had no confidence in him. Yet, he became a horse that captured the American public and gave hope to millions who didn’t have any. In Seabiscuit’s biggest race over 40M people listened to it on the radio, business closed so that people could watch and listen. He was an inspiration to millions. And that is the Leadership Lessons that I took from the film.
- 1.) Sometimes people just need a second chance.
- 2.) Sometimes you have to bring the fight to the competition.
